Royal Academy's Summer Exhibition to open on a high

 

The Royal Academy's Summer Exhibition - which opens to the public on Monday 2 June features a special display curated by Lord Foster, dedicated to the design and construction of tall buildings.

 

The 'Sky High' exhibition will feature a series of tall building models including the 460m-tall Ecotower by m3 architects, an 'ecological vision' designed for Aldgate High Street in London.

 

Also included in this display will be models of Kohn Pedersen Fox's Heron Tower, Richard Seifert's Centre Point, the controversial proposed London Bridge Tower by Renzo Piano and Richard Rogers Partnership's 48-storey skyscraper proposal for Leadenhall Street in the City of London.

 

RRP is also included in the general architecture exhibition with its model of the proposed Minami-Yamashiro Elementary School in Japan. Also on show is a model of lan Ritchie Architects' Potters Fields development on London's South Bank and two pen-and-ink sketches of Chetwood Associates Butterfly House.
